Babywearing Consultations

Chelsey is a babywearing educator…

…and offers consultations and group classes to help you build confidence and skill! She gives personalized support for selecting a carrier in each consultation.

Her passion for babywearing began when, as a full-time nanny to a large 12-month old child, she began to feel physical pain from carrying him in arms. A friend introduced her to the world of babywearing and literally saved her body! By distributing the baby’s weight more evenly across her body, she was able to feel better physically, be hands-free to perform other tasks, AND baby was happy being close to her.

Are you interested in babywearing but have no idea where to start? Do you feel overwhelmed by all the choices of baby carriers on the market? Do you already own a baby carrier(s) that you don’t know how to use? Are you experienced with carrying a newborn but want to learn how to carry your older baby/child?

During a babywearing consultation you will learn the benefits of babywearing, explore your babywearing goals, and Chelsey will introduce the various types of baby carriers (ring sling, soft-structured carrier, Asian-style carriers, woven wraps, stretchy wraps, and hybrids). She will take into consideration your individual needs and lifestyle to help you find the best carrier(s) for your family. After narrowing your choices, you will have a chance to try on a couple different carriers to find and learn the proper fit. Chelsey will provide a resource list with information on where to acquire the carrier(s) you choose.

The consultation can take place prenatally or postpartum. Chelsey will demonstrate the safe use of the chosen carriers with a weighted demo doll and will provide guided practice for you, also with the weighted doll, before practicing with your infant.

IN-OFFICE APPOINTMENTS

Babywearing Consultation - $120 *60-90 minute consultation session for up to two caregivers (you plus another partner, nanny, friend, or grandparent, etc). Do you feel overwhelmed by the amount and varieties of carriers on the market? Are you trying to figure out which carrier(s) to purchase or put on your registry? Have you already been babywearing but want to try a different carrier? If you answered yes to one or more of those questions, this session is for you! In this session we will go over your babywearing goals, your lifestyle, specific needs, and physical limitations/medical conditions to consider. Then I will help you figure out which carrier(s) you suit you best. When we have narrowed down to a couple carriers, I will demo how to use them safely and ergonomically. Lastly, there will be time for guided practice so that you can build confidence and skills with the carrier(s).

Babywearing Mini Session - $90 *Chelsey will teach you how to safely wear up to two carriers you already own. Rates are variable - contact Chelsey for specific pricing based on your needs.

HOME VISIT/OUTCALL APPOINTMENTS

Babywearing Consultation Stand-alone - $180 *60-90 minute consultation session for up to two caregivers (you plus another partner, nanny, friend, or grandparent, etc). Do you feel overwhelmed by the amount and varieties of carriers on the market? Are you trying to figure out which carrier(s) to purchase or put on your registry? Have you already been babywearing but want to try a different carrier? If you answered yes to one or more of those questions, this session is for you! In this session we will go over your babywearing goals, your lifestyle, specific needs, and physical limitations/medical conditions to consider. Then I will help you figure out which carrier(s) you suit you best. When we have narrowed down to a couple carriers, I will demo how to use them safely and ergonomically. Lastly, there will be time for guided practice so that you can build confidence and skills with the carrier(s).

Babywearing Mini Session - $150 *Chelsey will teach you how to safely wear up to two carriers you already own. Rates are variable - contact Chelsey for specific pricing based on your needs.
